As the 2023 Canadian Youth Delegate, my role is to engage with Canadian Youth in global health priorities and to ensure that their voices are advocated for at the 76th World Health Assembly and the 60th Pan American Health Organization Directing Council.
Shared Intervention on Behalf of Canada at PAHO's 60th Directing Council
Delivered statement on behalf of Canada at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Council Meeting, focusing on the integral links between mental health, overall well-being and the social determinants, emphasizing the urgent need for suicide prevention as a strategic priority. Concerns were also raised about the intersection between the climate crisis and mental health, advocating for comprehensive strategies that integrate mental health considerations into climate action.
GHAR Workshop: Career Panel Interview
A virtual career discussion featuring speakers who have collaborated with esteemed organizations such as the World Health Organization, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Offord Centre for Child Studies, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases, Youth Delegates to the WHA and PAHO-DC, and numerous others.
Diplomacy in Action - Bringing Health to the Table | Pre-World Health Assembly Event
A panel discussion featuring young leaders working in global heath, aims to discuss ways to engage youth in global health governance and explore different perspectives and approaches to shaping a healthier and more equitable world for everyone.
Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting side Event: No Health Without Mental Health
A discussion between youth leaders and policymakers on mental health issues within the Commonwealth. The event featured the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, and included a presentation of a report on "Youth Mental Health Services in the Commonwealth". The event was organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Commonwealth Youth Health Network

Presented Intervention at Pre-World Health Assembly
The 150th Executive Board of WHO has organized an annual informal pre-meeting to engage with Member States, non-State actors in official relations, and the Secretariat during the four to six weeks before the World Health Assembly. These meetings will be added to the non-State actors' regular meeting schedule with the WHO governing body.
